What is reconstructive forefoot surgery?

The forefoot is the part of the foot just under the toes (ball of the foot).  Forefoot problems are often caused by issues with how the foot interacts with the ground when walking.  Symptoms can be painful, causing deformities such as hallux rigidus (stiff big toe joint), bunions, pain in the ball of the foot and hammertoes. Reconstructive forefoot surgery can be performed as out-patient, same-day surgery.
