You should see a podiatrist when you have pain or an injury in any part of the foot or ankle and are experiencing one or more of the following symptoms for 1 or 2 days:
- Severe pain
- Swelling
- Numbness or tingling
- Open sore or wound
- Infection (redness, warmth, tenderness, or a fever)
If you are unable to walk or put weight on your foot, call your podiatrist immediately.
